Chris Devine, the always smiling bloke who ably assists me on Old Mates Days and Reunions and who drives that flash Yellow Monaro is in Warners Bay Private Hospital near Newcastle recovering from major corrective surgery to his ankle.
Chris was operated on today and was in bright spirits when Jenny and I visited him and his wife Sue at around 7pm.
I won’t go into the gory details but suffice to say the complicated surgery also involved the achilles tendon and other painful stuff.
Chris will be in hospital for a few days with physio commencing on the 17th of this month and his overall recovery over many months.
As can be seen by the photo below he has the buzzer in hand, the candy cane hook to catch the nurse and the sponge on the ready for the sponge baths that he hopes are to come in both hospital and home. He thanked me for those presents.
Chris would love to hear from his old mates on his mobile 0401 204889 to help cheer him up in the old mates tradition.
