A very good attendance yesterday to pay tribute to Bobby Degan.
Bob’s son David welcomed relatives and friends and we were able to view many photos and programs of Bob’s playing days with Chelsea – South Sydney and Wyong. Col Downing – Digger Livingstone and myself were very pleased to catch up with old mates including Rose Solly, Peter Sherrin, Ron Gibbs: all old Chelsea mates whom we have not seen for a very long time.
A nice touch. Everyone was invited to sign a South Sydney jersey. For those who are not familiar with the photo Bob is at the bottom far right , two in from the end. Bob was the “Chelsea Player of the Year” in 1962.
