Sadly we advise the passing of Ron Tubb.

We were informed of his passing two weeks ago, however have not been able to confirm until now. Thanks to the determined efforts of Ken Vessey the Redfern Police got back to Ken yesterday. They informed him that Ron did pass away two weeks ago in hospital.

A very likeable man Ron was a fountain of knowledge on the game of rugby league and most other sports.

A clever half – back or five eight he played for the South Sydney Fernleighs in 1951. In following years Ron played with Alexandria Rovers and Chelsea United.

In 1962 Ron was Capt/Coach of Moore Park A grade.

It is thought he had a stint with Thirroul Butchers on the South Coast before retiring.

He was a mentor to many and highly respected by all his mates. R I P Old mate.
