Two of our favourite old mates have had a rough time with health issues. On Friday 3 Nov 2017 Ken Vessey & Warren Thompson travelled to the Central Coast to catch up with them.
Ron had just come home from rehab at Woy Woy after a huge scare for him and his wife Lyn. He was extremely ill and we were very pleased to find him in good spirits and grateful to be home. We called to Bob’s home first and headed off to see Ron who lives close by. Bob has had heart and mobility issues. Like Ron he was very pleased to see us and we all enjoyed lunch courtesy of Lyn on a glorious day seated outside overlooking the garden.
The time went quickly as we recalled those great days when we were young and playing for Chelsea. Bobby of course was a talented player who is held in high regard. After finishing football Ron was the main man with a gun as the immaculately dressed official starter on the NSW Athletic League ( professional running).
