Denis Bendall and Ken Vessey. Scoop is on the right….

I guess everyone knows how passionate Scoop Vessey is about the MOL and the great work that this charity does for people connected to Rugby League who need a helping hand or a visit to say “Hello how are you going can we help” ?

One of the many things Scoop does is help organise, with his Mate Norm Pounder the Kick Off Club afternoon for the Men Of League Northern Sydney Branch.

Its held a few times each year at the brilliant venue of North Narrabeen Surf Club.

Unfortunately I cannot capture the cooling NE wind that was blowing or the smell of the BBQ food or the friendly atmosphere of this excellent afternoon.

As the day draws to an end and talk turns to next season…..

Before I head home to the Western Suburbs of Sydney I was delighted to catch up with Jeff Simmonds a true inspiration to me.

Thanks Ken and the people of the Northern Sydney MOL for the invite it was a great afternoon.
